Uddhav Prasad Rai

Uddhav Prasad Rai, has extensive experience and contributions in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) systems for development programs. He has served in various leadership roles, including as a Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor/Team Leader in USAID's Early Grade Reading Program, where he was responsible for leading and coordinating the entire M&E team of EGRP to operationalize the M&E system and report performance monitoring plan (PMP) as per USAID’s contractual agreements. He holds a PhD in Anthropology, along with multiple advanced degrees, and has authored several academic publications, books, and evaluation reports. Uddhav has attended and presented at numerous international seminars and workshops, showcasing his global engagement.

Experience

  • Executive Director (Part-time) of Consortium for Land Research and Policy Dialogue (COLARP) from September 2014 to August 2015.

  • Lecturer in Central Department of Sociology/Anthropology, Tribhuvan University Kathmandu from January 1998 to 2007 as part-time and then to August 2015 full time.

  • Corporate Planning Monitoring Evaluation (CPME) Manager in Plan (International) Nepal from July 1998 to August 2007.

  • Team Leader for Endline Survey and Project Completion Report Preparation of Rural Enterprise and Remittance Project (SAMRIDDHI) Project of Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies (MoICS) and International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) April-June, 2024.

  • Sociologist of Pakhribas Agricultural Centre (PAC), Dhankuta from April 1989 to September 1995. PAC is an agricultural research center funded by ODA/DFID in Nepal.
